Commissioner Almunia wants more concessions from Google by OIP

Following an unprecedented backlash (of which the Open Internet Project is one of the main elements), Commissionner Almunia has announced that “some of these [complainants'] replies are very, very negative. And in some of those replies, some complainants have introduced new arguments, new data, new considerations”. The Open Internet Project firmly believes it is an acknowledgment of our movement's legitimacy and our demands after Almunia's February statement. The current Google settlement is not a solution for users, nor companies, regarding the European digial economy's situation. We hope Almunia's last statements will be a milestone for a renewed approach of the Commission on this case.
